In dealing uninstalling Acrobat Reader 8.1.2 error appeared "adobe reader updater.api_non_opt 2753."
After googling a bit I learned that to fix it is to run the "Windows Installer CleanUp Utility" in Reader. Then we can UNINSTALL or repair or whatever you want.
A curious thing of this tool (msicuu2) is that in Vista you have to uncompress it and rename to "MsiZapU.exe" with "Msizap.exe." If the run as it is downloaded to do something only to office and has no menu to select the Acrobat Reader. Http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/290301
